Laserfiche® Fights Crime!
From the Laserfiche® Press Center:
On Feb. 4, 2016, the Long Beach City Prosecutor’s Office presented Laserfiche CEO Chris Wacker with an IMPACT Award for making a “positive, significant impact on the City of Long Beach in the past year.” Laserfiche enterprise content management (ECM) software plays a key role in the Long Beach Police Department’s initiative to combat gang violence.
“We look forward each year to shining a spotlight on the successful partnerships with our office, and we are thrilled to recognize the contributions that Chris and the people at Laserfiche have made to keeping our city safe,” said City Prosecutor Doug Haubert. “Laserfiche allows patrol officers to more effectively enforce our gang court orders, which in one year led to a 52 percent decrease in gang murders.”
With Laserfiche, Long Beach Police Department officers have instant access to a searchable list of all known gang members—including names, photos and links to proof of service documents—directly from their patrol cars, making it quick and easy to determine if a particular gang member has been served as part of an injunction. As a result, gang arrests increased by 650 percent since 2011.
“Gang investigation files are an indispensable tool that allow even novice officers to easily figure out if the individual in cuffs in their backseat is a hardened gangster who belongs in jail or just a kid who belongs in school,” said Wacker. “It is an honor that the Prosecutor’s Office and Police Department selected Laserfiche to underpin their crime-fighting efforts, and I am proud to accept this award on behalf of the entire company.”
The IMPACT Awards were presented at a reception on Feb. 4. Recipients were chosen by prosecutors and staff in the City Prosecutor’s Office based on their efforts in 2015.
